Why Give

legacy

In the past 40 years SWTU has undertaken dozens of projects to conserve, protect, and restore trout and salmon fisheries. If you've caught a fish on Black Earth Creek, Mt. Vernon Creek, Story Creek or many other streams in Southwest Wisconsin, you've been helped by the stream improvements the chapter has spearheaded. Maybe you've even been involved in some of the work yourself.

Projects take money. Our yearly fundraising efforts, like the Icebreaker and March Madness, provide some funding, but much is also eaten up in yearly expenses. The purpose of the Endowment Fund is to provide a constant reserve devoted solely to projects and initiatives that go to our core mission--preserving and protecting the cold water resource. Except in very special cases, only interest is used, so your contribution is a contribution forever. And you can see it every time you go fishing.
